Collection: Falida Nkomo

Falida Nkomo is a visual artist and researcher based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts by Research at the University of the Witwatersrand. Nkomo employs a range of artistic media, including printmaking, drawing, collage, and painting, to create an artistic archive that engages with themes of cultural identity, migration, and belonging. Nkomo’s practice examines the intersection of visual archives, practice, and theory while using her personal archive as evidence, both verbal and pictorial. The personal archive revisits past and present conversations and is a ritual gesture of homecoming, an intimate knowing of what is familiar.
