My artistic vision explores memory, identity and cultural symbolism within a South African context. In my practice, I draw on familiar visual languages from the past – particularly objects and imagery rooted in Afrikaans domestic culture, such as everyday items like playing cards – and reinterpret them to reflect contemporary queer and erotic narratives.
