Andile Bhala

Andile Bhala is a South African documentary and commercial photographer whose visual practice is rooted in authentic storytelling, deeply informed by his upbringing in Soweto and his acute sensitivity to the lived realities of communities across contemporary South Africa. Working across long-form documentary projects and socially engaged portraiture, Bhala interrogates themes of identity, memory, masculinity, spirituality, and everyday resilience eschewing sensationalism in favour of nuanced, human-centered narratives.
